Who Invented the Pen Drive?

Pen Drive is a portable data storage device.Another name is USB(Universal Serial Bus) flash drive.It is removable, re-writable,light in weight, helps to store/back up data and  to carry applications without installing on the host computer and to boot operating systems. Available in different designs, dimensions and cases. Pen drives are used in devices such as mobile phones, video game consoles and digital music players. 

At the age of 27,a Malaysian named Pua Khein-Seng invented the world's first pen drive. He is currently the CEO of Phison Electronics Corp, which is based in Taiwan.In Malaysia,he is regarded as the "father of pendrive".

Popularly World wide,The pen drive was invented in 1998 by IBM, with the intention of replacing the floppy drive in its ThinkPad line of products. The first flash drive was manufactured by M-systems under contract with IBM and was called the disgo. The disgo came in various sizes: 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB and 64 MB. Following the launch of disgo, a number of pen drives of different sizes, types and brands came into the market. Popular manufacturers of pen drives include companies such as Acer, Freecom , Belkin, Buffalo, Adata , Disgo, Fujitsu-Siemens and Corsair.
